INSTALL
Drag Vigil to Applications, open it, and enter your license key.

CONNECT
In Settings > Agents, click Install hooks. Existing hooks stay intact; Codex asks you to approve Vigil in
/hooks. -
WALK AWAY
Start an agent and leave it to work. The first hook event can launch Vigil, and hook errors never stop the agent.
LIMITS.
Vigil prevents idle sleep. It never forces your Mac to sleep, and macOS keeps the last word.
- Override macOS. Closing the lid, choosing Sleep, locking your Mac, and system safety decisions always win.
- Keep the display on by default. The optional display hold starts off.
- Stay on by hand. There is no permanent keep-awake switch to forget about.

By default, Vigil discards conversations, tool output, and transcript paths before writing hook events. It keeps only a few identifiers, your current directory, the event name, and short labels, then deletes each event after reading it.
There is no analytics or crash reporting. Network requests are limited to updates and licensing, and carry no agent, session, hook, project, or path data. Optional raw capture is off by default. Read the privacy details.
